Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Main themes
The 50-hour training period is divided in three parts:
1. Classroom observation and analysis of pedagogical practices (10h): the aim is to push the student to project himself being in charge of the class by meeting his future pupils and training supervisor.
2. Teaching practice (40h) : the aim is to allow the future teacher to experience the different points approached in the theoretical courses under the guidance of training supervisors registered by the UCL.
3. Presentation of report lessons. 
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of the training period, the student will have proved his capacity to:
  • design, plan and teach philosophy classes in upper secondary education,
  • think about his teaching practice and regulate it,
  • adapt to different professional situations in different school environments by interacting with training supervisors.

Content
The training periods consist of 40h of teaching and 10h of classroom observation. During each training period, the student will be taken care of by a training supervisor chosen by the head of training.
The student chooses his training supervisors in the list of training supervisors registered by the UCL. He agrees with them on the modalities of the classroom observation and the active lessons.
