Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 The aim of this seminar is to teach the student mastery of the basic techniques of university work:
- understanding the notions of analysis, synthesis, summary, theory and empirical understanding,
- research into and use of bibliographical sources, compiling notes from reading, using reference convention,
- learning editing standards, and in particular the rules relating to plagiarism.
This learning process also focuses on dealing with the problems involved in practical research.

Content
First part of seminar involves lessons "ex-cathedra" : reviews and definition of scientific concepts, criticizes sources,...) The seminar methodology involves also - active participation and group work by students. - some compulsory reading
