Content
The course aims at enabling the student to function in the relevant social and professional contexts (law enforcement, the judicial world, the execution of criminal sentences, the field of prevention policies and psycho-social interventions). The student will practise the language in an interactive way through classroom professional-type activities and will therefore be exposed to a variety of real-life situations requiring specific language functions. Regular feedback on the student's oral production will help him consolidate and improve his grammar use, vocabulary accuracy as well as pronunciation.
At the end of the term, the student should have acquired oral skills roughly corresponding to the B1 level of « the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ».

Teaching methods
This course includes 30 hours of classroom activities as well as self-tuition on Moodle.
- Interactive communication through classroom activities
- Exposure to a variety of real-life situations requiring specific language functions
- Consolidation and improvement of grammar use, vocabulary accuracy as well as pronunciation
- Regular feedback on the students oral production

- Continuous assessment (40%)

a group exam (role play)
as well as an individual exam (presentation of a criminology-oriented topic based on a portfolio of articles)
