Main themes
The course is devoted to the study, practice and development of methods of electronic publishing, particularly critical editions. The qualitative management of data lies at the heart of these lessons, which will introduce students to developments to enhance, transcribe, publish, produce critical editions and publish this data in the form of texts, but also of images and sounds (audio-visual). The different procedures in publishing will be covered and practised through exercises tailored to the specific skills of the students. Links with the quantitative approach to data (databases) will be highlighted. Methods for interrogating and exploiting the published data will be introduced.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the field of electronic publishing, both from a theoretical and a practical perspective. They will have acquired certain publishing techniques and will be capable of learning others, such as monitoring the development of techniques. They will be able to choose the most appropriate methods to edit and publish any kind of data, including collaborative work. They will be able to draw up specifications for a critical electronic publishing project, monitor the tools used for publication and interrogation, the implementation of the project and its publication.
