Main themes

The course views detailed questions, which change every year. The emphasis is often put on : a) the study of human figure, one of the objectives of art history - as in literature - is to enable humans to find their fellow creatures, b) the improvement of chronology, as indispensable basis for every investigation. Problems of architecture may also be taken into account.

Aims
Advanced training for students who are interested in archaeology and art history of Pharaonic Egypt.

Evaluation : Oral examination in front of pictures, at the end of the session (20 points).
