| Main themes |
The main concepts dealt with in the course are infantile sexuality, the Oedipus complex, fixations with experiences involving premature satisfaction, interiorized parental figures (imagos), real traumas and childhood fantasies.
We examine the key stages in sexual life : puberty, conception, childbirth, parentality, maturity, menopause, sexuality in the elderly. In this context, we deal with sexual disorders: partial and total frigidity/impotence, premature ejaculation, sexual identity disorders as well as obvious pathologies such as perversion and violence with sexual overtones.
We consider homosexuality, homoparentality, "neo-sexualities", non- sexual reproduction

| Aims |
With the help of psychoanalytical theory, this course is designed to shed light on the problems that couples and families experience in life, particularly the fate of sexuality in men and women. We examine, with the help of case studies and audio-visual material, the characteristic features of masculine and feminine sexuality and their respective potential for conflict and even their pathology throughout life.
Students are also introduced to various kinds of psychoanalytical clinical practice (therapy-based, interviews with families and couples, analysis-based psychotherapy) from which data was collected to formulate theories in psychoanalysis).
By the end of this course, students will be able, from a psychoanalytical perspective, to deal with the emergence of and disorders in human sexuality as well as with the different pathologies. They will have the necessary tools to undertake a critical examination of the manifestations and consequences of sexuality in contemporary life and the theories and ideologies which uphold them.

Lectures given by lecturers with wide clinical experience. Audio-visual material (Power Point presentations, films) and contributions from guest clinicians from areas studied. Individual reading on clinical cases.
