|
Evaluation methods |
One or two tests will be held during the term.
The final exam (written and oral) evaluates both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
|
Teaching methods |

The syllabus of the course FLTR1770 serves as a reference, and there will be a test on this about a month after the beginning of the course.
|
Content |
This course covers the morphology of regular and irregular verbs. It provides a first overall survey of the system of moods and tenses in Ancient Greek as well as a methodical introduction to the analysis and translation of Greek texts. It is complemented by numerous exercises in morphology, and about 100 paradigms illustrating nominal and verbal syntax.
The cursory reading consists of extracts from Xenophon's Cyropaedia: the story of Abradatas and Panthea and the speech of the dying Cyrus.
