Main themes Become aware of the place of this course within the overall Bachelor's program.Drawing as a tool of analysis and investigation: Parallel use of manual and computer-based drawing techniques: - introduction to perspective and to the incorporation of light into drawings - introduction to software programs with application to a building and to a part of a city or of a landscape Comprehension of the potential and limits of different drawing techniques, evolution of applicable conditions through exercises: survey drawings, measurement, construction, siting, integration. Introduction to composition through drawing through advanced exercises, relating and articulating a multiplicity of places.
Aims By the end of the course, students will be able to :Use manual and computer-based drawing techniques as concrete means toward the representation and definition of a place. Understand the nature and constitution of a place. Link together work in plan, in section and in elevation.Associate the articulation of a simple program with the articulation of its corresponding spaces. Associate constructional articulation (structure and light) with the articulation of spaces. Dimension a plan.
