Students who have taken this course will be able to make a diagnosis and specify the most appropriate means of psychotherapeutic, psychiatric or psychosocial treatment both for the diagnosed disorders and the reported problems, for implicit and explicit requests, for the contextual dimensions as well as for the psychological situation and the financial resources of the family or the couple in question.
Main themes
Various methods of individual, marital, family and group psychotherapy treatment as well as different sexual, marital and family pathologies, especially : absence of communication, excessive aggression, pathological jealousy, family and marital violence, abuse and incest, impotence and frigidity.
Special emphasis is on the concept of the designated patient, rigidity of the system, intergenerational transmission and symptoms as the solution for the survival of the system together with social and legal aid structures and mediation.
In the last part of the course, the differential psychopathology of the sexes is covered.

Lectures are given by lecturers with wide clinical experience. Students are required to have read various texts including accounts of clinical cases. Videos.
