Previous Meetings
- On September 10, 2008, Norman Breslow received an honorary doctorate from
UH and KUL-2 combined,
at the occasion of the start of the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics
and
statistical Bionformatics (I-BioStat), a joint venture of UH and KUL-2.
It is fair to say that
this well advanced level of collaboration has been catalyzed by the IAP-Network
in Statistics.
- On October 16-17, 2008, the 16th Annual Meeting of the Belgian Statistical
Society took
place in Wépion-Namur. The IAP network took part in the organization
of this meeting,
and organized one session, with Vladimir Spokoiny (Weierstrass Institute,
Berlin) as invited
speaker.

- On November 12-14, 2008, an international workshop on `Flexible modelling:
smoothness
and robustness' was held at KUL-1 (main organizer: I. Gijbels). Two of the
ten invited
speakers were members of the IAP-network. The international workshop was
attended by
approximately hundred participants including several members of the IAP-network.
