Research focus [30.0]

The research focus offers training in research with seminars and specialised courses in the context of a particular subject area chosen by the student. The courses in this focus should be spread over the 2 blocks of the Master’s degree.

Students should choose a subject area (30 credits) from the following list:

"Basic trends" which offers general training in philosophy research
"Aesthetics and philosophy" of art which offers specific training in research in this area in the context of interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with the History of Art and Musicology programmes
"Science, technology, society" which offers specific training in research in this area in the context of the European interuniversity programme "European Studies of Society, Science and Technology" (ESST). One semester of the Master’s may be spent in a universitie in the ESST network: the University of Strasbourg. The second semester of the Master’s 2 consists of writing a dissertation at UCL. "Philosophy of science" which offers specific training in research in this area in the context of an interuniversity programme which links UCL, ULB (Université libre de Bruxelles) and ULg (Université de Liège).
