Brief description of the project

A research network in statistics between the Universities of KUL Leuven, UHasselt, ULB Bruxelles, UCL Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), UJF Grenoble (France) and RWTH Aachen(Germany). The table below lists the names of the promotors of each research team involved.

Partners

The research network contains 5 Belgian research groups and 4 European partners.

Partner Type Promotor
Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) Coordinator Prof. Léopold Simar and Prof. Ingrid Van Keilegom
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL-1) Associated Partner Prof. Paul De Boeck
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL-2) Associated Partner Prof. Emmanuel Lesaffre
Universiteit Hasselt (UH) Associated Partner Prof. Noël Veraverbeke
Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) Associated Partner Prof. Marc Hallin
Aachen Technical University (RWTH) European Partner Prof. Hans Hermann-Bock
Université Joseph Fourier (UFJ-LMC-IMAG) European Partner Prof. Anestis Antoniadis

Other participating research units in Belgium are located at the FUNDP Namur (Jean-Paul Rasson and colleagues) and the RUG Gent (Els Goetghebeur and colleagues).

Workpackages

The research project focuses on statistical techniques for dealing with complex problems and/or complex data structures. The project is organized around six work packages. Cross-links between the work packages are a crucial issue in the network.
For each work package the are main collaborations between two or three partners, and further contributions from other partners in the network. For each work package one partner has been assigned as a coordinator for that package. The table below lists the various work packages and the main contributing partners (an asterisk indicating the coordinating partner) :

Work Package (WP) Main partners
WP1: Functional estimation UCL*, ULB, UJF
WP2: Time series ULB*, UCL
WP3: Survival Analysis UH*, UCL
WP4: Mixed Models KUL-2*, KUL-1, UH
WP5: Classification and latent variables KUL-1* , KUL-2*, RWTH
WP6: Incompleteness and latent variables UH*, KUL-1 , KUL-2
