Maud Moens

Senior Researcher - Wind Energy

Maud Moens obtained her PhD at UCLouvain in 2018. Her project was dedicated to the development of a numerical tool for accurate and still efficient wind farm simulations. Since 2018, she has a position as Post-Doctoral Researcher in the WakeOpColl project.

She works in the support and development of the in-house CFD solver used by the team, i.e. the finite difference BigFlow v2 solver, mainly dedicated to wind farm simulations in a realistic environment. She also investigates reinforcement learning strategies for optimized wind farm control. In a first step, this control aims at increasing the power production at wind farm scale. On a longer term, the objective is to extend the learning algorithms to account for fatigue loads.
