The Belgian Energy Research Alliance (BERA) gathers 16 academic research institutes working on sustainable technologies in Belgium. The alliance organizes a yearly event for PhD students doing their research on wind energy. About 30 PhD students from Belgian institutes were gathered at the Conference Center Het Pand. They had the chance to pitch their research in a one-minute presentation and then continued the discussion based on their poster.
Maxime's poster was entitled "Development of an online wind turbine wake model", while Marion's one was about "Biomimetic individual pitch control". François Trigaux is another PhD student from the research institute, he presented a poster called "Actuator models for LES of vertical axis wind turbines".
