VISSOFT 2026

A paper accepted at VISSOFT 2026

The paper “Visualizing the Evolution of Data Access in Microservices” has been accepted to VISSOFT 2026 in the Research track.

In this work, we argue that existing visualizations of microservices primarily focus on structural and behavioral perspectives, leaving a gap in the analysis of changes across versions. To address this limitation, we introduce a set of novel visualizations and metrics that can be combined to support evolutionary analyses of microservices. Among these, we introduce the Comparison Treemap, the Difference Treemap, and the Evolutionary Treemap. These build upon the contributions we presented last year at the same venue. We evaluate our approach on 42 evolution scenarios using historical data from 10 real-world software systems, totaling 5 million lines of code.

Maxime will present this paper with his co-authors early September 2026 in Benevento (Italy).

The paper was co-authored with Prof. Massimiliano Di Penta from the University of Sannio (Italy).
