MLG researchers deal with datasets coming from various domains including: biomedical, commercial and geographical data; image, sound and text processing; food quality control, etc. This discipline is known, in computer science and other domains, as "Machine Learning", "Data Mining" or "Knowledge Discovery in Databases".
The Applied Statistics workshops are usually held on Fridays, 14h30 and 16h00 (alternately with Statistics seminars). This seminar focuses on problem driven statistics. Usually, presentations in this seminar present case studies satisfying the following requirements :
Occasionally, the are also methodological presentation of wide general interest. Talks are given in the language in which title and abstract are listed.
