Selective proteolysis during mitosis

We are investigating the function of two yeast AAA-ATPases that are essential for cell division. Cdc48p is required for membrane fusion during mitosis. Our current project aims at identifying proteins that interact with Cdc48p to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying this process. We are also examining the role of the 26S protease in mitotic degradation of recently identified target proteins.
