The research carried out in this laboratory is devoted to understanding some basic biological mechanisms in yeast and plants using biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology tools.

A major research programme concerns the study of the membrane proteins involved in transporting various molecules across the plasma membrane (proton pumps-ATPases, drug transporters, aquaporins). The fate of transporters and other proteins by selective proteolysis (ubiquitin-proteosome system) is also studied. Iron homeostasis in yeast is studied in relation to Friedreisch ataxia. This laboratory also develops integrated genomic projects. These research topics are briefly detailed here.
