Aims

To sensitize the students to the specificity of the ethical approach in the evaluation in actu exercito of the attitudes and behaviours implied in the questions related to the sexual, conjugal and family life.
As this course is intended for students with academic and/or professionnal qualitifications, it integrates the contribution of their respective formations and/or practices.

Main themes

According to the chosen theme (e.a. : the crisis of the civil and religious wedding, rejection of the matrimonial institution and of the commitment ; the "procreation revolution" and its impact on the signification of sexuality, wedding and family, and on the ethics of fatherhood and motherhood ; homosexuality, the right to wedding and to homosexual parenthood ; …)
a) the course refers to some works of the teacher ;
b) a selected bibliography (related to the teaching) allows to enrich the data of the problem considered
The course is ex professo, leaving some place for the students questions and contributions in the frame of the teaching.

Content and teaching methods

According to the chosen theme (e.g. the crisis in civil and religious wedding, the rejection of the matrimonial institution and commitment; the "procreation revolution" and its impact on the meaning of sexuality, of wedding and family, and on the ethic of fatherhood and motherhood; the homosexualities, the right to marriage and to homosexual parenthoods).


a) the lecture sends back to some papers of the teacher
b) a selective bibliography (to which the teacher refers) enables to enlarge the data of the problem considered.
The course is given "ex professo". Considering its recipients (cfr 1 above), it makes way for student's questions and contributions in the field of the given teaching.

Prerequisite :
The course implies that, in their previous cursus, the students have got some teaching on the basic concepts of ethics.

Evaluation :
Oral examination on the knowledge of the subjects taught. It includes an appraisal of the originality in the assimilation of the subjects taught and on the way the students consider themselves with respect to these subjects.
