 Aims
To study thoroughly the functioning of the lexical system in synchrony. To make the students aware of the lexical possibilities.
Main themes
To describe the main ways of functioning of the French lexicon in synchrony : native creativity and non-native contribution.
Content and teaching methods
Specific problems regarding neology, semantic, terminology, etc...studied in the light of the recent movements in the lexical analysis field. Two more specific questions are dealt with alternaly : the native lexical creation and the borrowing.

Evaluation : Oral exam with paper to present at the exam.
Teaching materials : selective bibliography.
