Aims

- to describe the important principles of learning and the technics they suggest to implement in order to evaluate or to improve the learning of real tasks.
- to analyse their implementation in the help devices for learning and for the use of complex systems.
- to develop their implications in the devising of teaching programs.

Main themes

- cognitive mechanisms of memory and learning (categorisation; implicit learning; partition; role of the declarative and procedural elements; transfer theory; learning by analogy)
- laws of learning (law of practice; learning curves)
- learning simulation in the computational constructs; design of tutorials and analysis of the learning; differences novice-expert
- applications (e.g. reading and arithmetic
- metacognitive aspects of learning and of memory (metamemory and learning judgment)

Content and teaching methods
