Aims

- To study recent advances in artificial intelligence

- To summarize a technical or scientific AI paper and discuss it with a critical viewpoint

Main themes

Themes are chosen among recent advances in artificial intelligence or, more specifically, machine learning

Content and teaching methods

Illustrative examples:
- Hidden Markov models
- Boosting and bagging algorithms
- Support vector machines
- Automata induction techniques
- N-grams models
- Probabilistic context-free grammars

Teaching methods: student seminars

Prerequisites: Courses in artificial intelligence (INGI2262 or INGI2261 or INGI2365 according to hthe current year topic)
