Aims

-To introduce the students with various forms of communication of the historical knowledge by holding account:
- specificity of the thought processes of synthesis;
- requirements specific to the historical essay;
- differences inherent in the various types of written, oral or audio-visual expression.

Main themes

Contained: - According to the needs for the students, recall of certain grammatical, syntactic and orthographical rules. - Recall of principal conventions of the scientific writing and introduction to the basic rules typography page setting of a university work. - Initiation with the communication writing. - Initiation with the audio-visual writing, in particular with the drafting of comments of short sequences of images of files. - Initiation with the oral expression and the use of the audio-visual supports. Method: one will alternate: analyze comparative texts in historical matter intended for the public ones varied, theoretical reference marks, practical exercises at the beginning of questions of history. The exercises of oral expression will be done in videoscopy. Exercises organized per series of 20 students. Obligatory for the students in aggregation. Optional for the others. These exercises can be followed as of the second candidature.

Content and teaching methods

These exercises will introduce: - with the specificity of the thought processes of synthesis (proposal of methods/tools); - with the requirements of the historical "essay"; - with the differences between the written and oral expression; - with the technical requirements and methods of the oral communication of a scientific knowledge. One will alternate: - analyses of written and oral speeches; - theoretical reference marks; - practical exercises. Organized per series of 20 students, these exercises are obligatory for the students in aggregation, optional for the others.

Evaluation continued on the basis of exercise carried out by the students. The holder resorts to the contribution of historians experts of the world of the edition and the written and audio-visual communication
