Aims

- to teach students how to approach the philosophical conceptions founding the great educational options;
- to teach students how to draw and to criticise the conceptions of man conveyed by contemporary human sciences (particularly educational sciences)
- to teach students how to understand the specificity of human sciences (particularly educational sciences) and their links with other forms of knowledge and with practice.

Main themes

Introduction to the current state of the reflection on education from its history and from the study of various problems raised by the (scientific, anthropological, political, etc.) discourse on education in order to draw the philosophical stakes.

Content and teaching methods

Lectures + works of analysis of important basic texts and discussion of problems relevant for the students formation and experience in educational field. The pedagogy is adapted to adults including the link theory/practice, group work, formative evaluation and taking over of the contents.

The pedagogy adapted to adults includes the link theory/practice, work in groups, formative evaluation, collective and individual taking over of the contents. Illustrations in the various fields of adults education and formation: lifelong education, special education, continuing education, educational field, etc.
A summative evaluation will check the understanding of the doctrines and the ability to critically analyse a question about education, in the light of philosophy, anthropology and epistemology, namely the ability for written communication.
