Aims

- To enable health professionals to manage the development of internal and external evaluations of quality of care
- To obtain an understanding of the social and economic context, as well as of how to organize health care. In particular, training to the management of care units in the framework of new financing systems based on diagnoses.

Main themes

Theoretical aspects:
- Data collection, role of electronic patient record, ad hoc questionnaires, …
- Data quality, reliability, validity
- Data bases, data warehousing
- Organisational context
- Case mix measurement; severity of cases
- Quality of care indicators

Practical exercises
- Use of computerized nomenclatures and classifications
- Analysis of medical reports. Case mix attribution
- Cases study to estimate quality of care
- …
