Aims

To familiarise students with the demands of daily radio journalism, and to encourage them
to carry out a critical evaluation of their work.

Students will be encouraged to learn about such matters as the need for messages to be
Consistent and pertinent, and the technical and time constrains of this work, and to introduce them to the basic elements of radio grammar in respect of spoken information.

Content and teaching methods

- Learning about the key elements of radio grammar in respect of information, including
particular features of different kinds of information (e.g. radio news, short articles, interviews and auditive reporting) together with the effective inclusion of theoretical aspects of language.
- A growing awareness of the problems of collecting and processing information specific
to radio information.
- Familiarisation with the technical procedures of producing for radio.
Methodology
Exercises, learning by trial and error, and ongoing assessment of students.
