Aims

This course aims to guide the medical student in his/her surgical scholarship during the third master year.Emphasis will be put on self-study and development of critical judgement of surgical casess encountered during the clerkship.

Main themes

The course is organised in form of interactive seminars one's week. These seminaries are developed by the students themselves, under guidance of the teachers. The students learn to do critical clinical presentations as well as to collect necessary information in relation to clinical cases encountered during their clerkship.Clinical approach is followed by the development of paraclinical examination and treatment options for the patient.

Content and teaching methods

Presentation and discussion of real clinical cases encountered during the clerkship, essentially within the specialities of digestive, cardiovascular, orthopedic ,trauma and emergency surgery. This teaching is done on an interactive basis.

Volume : about 45 seminaries a year; necessary faculty : four teachers.
