Aims

By the end of the course, students will be able to give future teachers an overview of the general organization of teaching in art history, aesthetics, and music, as well as of the programmes and their objectives. In concert with the didactics course in art history, aesthetics, and music, they will be able to reflect critically on the artistic education programmes.

Main themes

Analysis of the programmes and their objectives in relation to secondary school education programmes and in concert with the specific objectives of each section/option.
Special questions on: - the objectives and priorities emphasized in the programmes; - the methods proposed and their diversity; - the subject contents and their balance; - the proposed modalities of evaluation, keeping in mind the specificities of each level and of skills in each discipline and across disciplines.

Content and teaching methods

Contents
Approach to the programmes in their general conceptions and in the teaching conceptions specific to art history, aesthetics, and music. How to select and organize subjects in order to better reach the objectives and requirements of the programmes.
Special questions on: - the objectives and priorities emphasized in the programmes; - the methods proposed and their diversity; - the subject contents and their balance; - the proposed modalities of evaluation, keeping in mind the specificities of each level and of skills in each discipline and across disciplines.
