Aims

Reading comprehension
. Be able to understand in detail descriptive and analytic texts on general subjects related to the student's field of
studies.
. Level C1 of the Common European Framework for Languages

Listening comprehension
. Individual : Be able to understand in detail lectures or tv or radio programs on topics of general interest or relative
to the student's field of studies, provided the language used is standard and clear.
. Level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages

. Master the vocabulary (basic, intermediate, academic and specific)
. Master the main points of the grammar (verb forms)

Pedagogical Approach
. preparation of extensive texts at home, using reading strategies.
. analysis and explanation of these texts in class
. detailed and general analysis of video programs at individual speed
. analysis and summary of grammar (verb forms)

Content and teaching methods

Code and title : ANGL 1816 General English - intermediate
Year of study : ISP BAC 1 / TECO BAC 1 and 2
Number of hours, rhythm, terms: ISP 60h, 2h/week, all year ; TECO 30h, 2h/week, first semester BAC 1; 30h, 2h/semaine first semester BAC 2
Aim: Reading and listening comprehension, mastery of vocabulary and basic grammar
Evaluation : continuous assessment, written exam.
