Message of the Coordinator

I'd like to wish you the very best for 2017 and a fruitful (last) year for our network ! As you can see below, we have quite a number of activities already scheduled for this year. I want to draw your attention more specifically to the Benelux Meeting on Systems and Control scheduled from March 28 till 30, 2017 in Spa, Belgium. The deadline for the Abstracts is passed but you can still register to attend the meeting. The program promises to be very interesting with plenaries delivered by Frank Allgöwer (University of Stuttgart), Mario Sznaier (Northeastern University, Boston) and Pablo Parrilo (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston).

We hope to see many of you in Spa.

VUB

The VUB-ELEC department is proud to announce the 2017 edition of the

ELEC Workshop on System Identification 29 May - 23 June 2017

as a continuation of 9 successful editions of the 'ELEC Doctoral School on the Identification of Nonlinear Dynamic Systems'.

The workshop brings together researchers in System Identification and researchers/industrials who are in need of modelling tools, based on measured/simulation data. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to

• learn frequency domain system identification tools from experts in the field, • have hands-on experience with system identification tools on problems that are relevant for your research/application, • network with colleague researchers and set up long-lasting scientific collaborations and friendships.

Dates of the workshop: 29 May - 23 June 2017 (4 weeks)

Format: • 29 May - 9 June 2017: lectures and hands-on exercises on (frequency domain) system identification tools • NEW: 12 June - 23 June 2017: collaboration on an individual project, with ELEC researchers. In the last two weeks of the workshop (12 - 23 June), the participants will have the opportunity to collaborate closely on individual projects with ELEC researchers. The content of these projects is to be proposed by the prospective participants, in the line of their research interests, and such that the use of ‘System Identification’ tools has potential benefits.

More info about the content of the courses and on the individual project can be found on the webpage.

Time table: • registration opens: December 2016 • deadline registration: February 15, 2017 • notification of acceptance: March 10, 2017 • workshop: May 29 - June 23, 2017

Registration: vubirelec.be/workshop_2017
