Message from the Coordinator
First let me wish all members of the DYSCO network, and in particular the newcomers, a great start for this new academic year. We will have a meeting of the promotors next week on 11/9. One of the main items on our agenda will be to organize the next study day. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, particularly regarding plenary speakers. We will also re-evaluate the possibilities of co-supervision of PhD theses for the newly arrived PhD students.
The first graduate course of this new academic year will start in early October, with a course on Control and Nonlinearity; those interested should consider registering for the new course sometime this months: see here for details.
Finally, I welcome the arrival at our secretariat of Nathalie Ponet who has filled in Michèle Termolle's position. She will, among other tasks, be in charge of the DYSCO newsletter, the webpages and many other IAP-related items. As you can already see, Nathalie has immediately embarked on a freshening and improvement of the Newsletter and of the DYSCO webpages. I look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Nathalie.

Laurent Demanet (Stanford University) is at CESAME from 18 August to 16 September. He works with V. Blondel and his team.
Gabriel Peyre (CNRS and Ceremade, Université de Paris) will visit us from 8 to 12 September. He will conduct a seminar.
Huseyin Akçay, Professor at Anadolu University in Turkey, will spend a sabbatical year at CESAME, from 6 September, 2008, until 30 June, 2009. He will work with the team of M. Gevers.
Brian Anderson (Australian National University, NICTA) and Alexandre Bazanella (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) will visit us from 15 to 26 September. They will both work with the team of M. Gevers.
B. Abouzaid (Chouaib Doukkali University, El Jadida, Morocco) will work for one year as a post doctoral researcher (BELSPO scholarship) with J. Winkin and V. Wertz. She will arrive around September 15.
