During\u00a0one of these events, Binet was approached\u00a0by a certain \u201cPjotr\u201d, who pretended to be the\u00a0assistant of the Soviet military attach\u00e9. In\u00a0reality, Pjotr was a \u201cspotter-recruiter\u201d for the\u00a0GRU. Binet was ultimately\u00a0sentenced to 20 years\u2019 hard labour and military\u00a0degradation.
