The network composed of numerous gendarmes was responsible in watching the movements of the German troops. Therefore it was initially named \u201cThe Gendarmes network\u201d, an appellation wisely replaced later by \u201cThe Ambulants network\u201d.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Gustave Mus, constable, a \u00e9t\u00e9 recrut\u00e9 en mai 1915 par le service de renseignement belge pour fonder un r\u00e9seau d\u2019espionnage en Belgique occup\u00e9e. Le r\u00e9seau, charg\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9pier les mouvements des troupes allemandes, s\u2019appuie au d\u00e9part sur des gendarmes, d\u2019o\u00f9 son appellation \u00ab r\u00e9seau des Gendarmes\u00bb, prudemment transform\u00e9e ensuite en \u00ab r\u00e9seau des Ambulants \u00bb.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Twee broers van Gustave Mus \u2013 Pierre, a tailor, en Fran\u00e7ois, een postbediende \u2013 maken er deel van uit. Gustave en Fran\u00e7ois Mus worden aangegeven en, with other agents, in the summer of 1916 executed. This has largely decapitated the network.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Two brothers of Gustave Mus \u2013 Pierre, of tails, and Fran\u00e7ois, a postman \u2013 are part of it. Denounced alongside other numerous agents, Gustave and Fran\u00e7ois Mus are condemned and shot by the Germans during the summer of 1916. The network is then largely dismantled.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Deux fr\u00e8res de Gustave \u2013 Pierre, tailor, et Fran\u00e7ois, postier \u2013 en font partie. He was sentenced to death in absentia twice: for espionage, and for the murder of a German soldier. He effectively has the soldier who would take him to the Kommandantur, murdered because he had compromising documents in his pocket at the time of an identity check.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Nimble, expert in disguise, Pierre Mus never falls in the traps set up by the German secret police. He is twice sentenced to death in absentia: once for espionage, once for the murder of a German soldier. Indeed, endangered during an identity check and in possession of sensitive documents, he killed the soldier that was taking him to the Kommandantur.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Agile, fan of cross-dressing, Pierre Mus parvient \u00e0 \u00e9chapper \u00e0 tous les pi\u00e8ges tendus. Il est condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 mort deux fois par d\u00e9faut: once for espionage, une autre pour le meurtre d\u2019un soldat allemand. He contributes to providing the plans for the port of Zeebrugge to the Allies. These plans are essential for the British attack in April 1918 with the aim of blocking the German submarines. After the war, many people fell upon him <a class=\"jcepopup\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.uclouvain.be\/digithemis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Musdecoration.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">awards<\/a> in turn.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Pierre Mus succeeded in transmitting numerous documents. He helped to provide the Allies the maps of the Zeebrugge harbour that played a capital role in the April 1918 British raid, an operation aimed at blocking the way out of the German U-boats. After the war, he was decorated with numerous <a class=\"jcepopup\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.uclouvain.be\/digithemis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Musdecoration.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">honours<\/a>.<\/td><td style=\"width: 300px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: border: 5px solid transparent;\">Pierre Mus sent numerous documents during the war.
