										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">The annual Linguists’ Day of the LSB (Linguistic Society of Belgium) will be organized this year on <strong>Friday 25 May 2018</strong> at the Faculté de Philosophie et Lettres of the <strong>Université de Liège</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Abstracts</strong><br />
Lectures (20’ presentation + 10’ discussion) can deal with any linguistic topic and can be given in one of the three national languages (Dutch, French, German) or in English. Abstracts (max. 500 words, without references) should clearly indicate the subject, the objectives, the used data and method and the (provisional) results. <strong>All abstracts can be submitted until 21 April 2018</strong> to <a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cbl20180" target="_blank">https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cbl20180</a>. Before 1 May 2018 you will be informed about acceptance of your abstract.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Venue</strong><br />
All activities (lectures and lunch) will take place in the central building (A1) of the City Centre Campus of the University of Liège, located Place du 20 août, 4000 Liège. It is at a walking distance from Liège-Palais train station.<br />
TEC operates regular services from Liège-Guillemins train station to the city centre. Get off at the “Opéra” stop and follow Place de la République française and Rue de l’Université, which lead to Place du 20 août. Note that you can charge your MOBIB-card to pay your bus fares.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Attendance</strong><br />
Attendance is free of charge (this holds for members and non-members). If you want to give a lecture you must be a member of the LSB. This means that you have to be registered on the website and have paid your contribution &#8211;€ 40 if you wish to obtain the latest volume of the Belgian Journal of Linguistics for 2018, € 20 without.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Award</strong><br />
Like we did last year the board will be organizing the Best Paper Presentation Award for doctoral students. If you wish to participate make sure you mention it when you submit your proposition.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The annual Linguists’ Day of the LSB (<em>Linguistic Society of Belgium</em>) will be organized this year on <strong>Friday 5 May 2017</strong> at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at the <strong>University of Antwerp</strong>. All activities (lectures and lunch) will take place in building D (entrance via the corner of Grote Kauwenberg and Vekestraat or via Grote Kauwenberg).</p>

We are celebrating the publication of this year’s special issue of the <em>Belgian Journal of Linguistics</em> on <a class="" href="https://benjamins.com/#catalog/journals/bjl.30/main">Computational Construction Grammar and Constructional Change</a>. The reception will be preceded by two keynote lectures on these topics by Jóhanna Barðdal (UGent) and Luc Steels (VUB).</div>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Linguistic Society of Belgium organized its first <strong>Best Paper Presentation Award</strong> for doctoral students at the 2016 Linguists’ Day.</p>
<p>The winner of the first LSB Best Presentation Award is <strong>Emma Vanden Wyngaerd</strong>. The prize was awarded for ‘Adapting a monolingual  theory to fit a bilingual problem’.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Dear LSB-member, dear colleague,</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The annual Linguists’ Day of the Linguistic Society of Belgium (LSB) will be organized on <strong>Friday 13 May 2016 </strong>by the Linguistic Research Unit of the Institute for Language and Communication (IL&amp;C), Université catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Presentations can deal with any linguistic topic, and can be given in any of the three national languages (Dutch, French, German) or in English. A selection of papers will be published in the electronic journal <em>Papers of the Linguistic Society of Belgium</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Abstracts should be max. 500 words excluding references and provide a clear outline of the aim of the paper including clearly articulated research question(s), some details about research approach and methods and (preliminary) results. Abstracts should be submitted by<strong> Monday 15 February 2016 </strong>via <a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bklcbl2016">https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bklcbl2016</a> .</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In agreement with the LSB Board, all abstracts will be evaluated by two members of the scientific committee. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by 31 March 2016.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Attendance is free of charge for LSB members. The annual membership fee is 40 euros (including subscription to the <em>Belgian Journal of Linguistics) </em>or 20 euros (without BJL subscription). <p style="text-align: justify;">We are very pleased to confirm that the LSB Board will be organizing its first Best Paper Presentation Award for doctoral students at the 2016 Linguists’ Day.</p>
