Most of the bachelor and master programmes are taught in French. However, UCL proposes some master programmes entirely or partially taught in English. Some courses are also taught in other languages (Italian, Spanish …). You can find courses in English in programmes taught in French. Finally, students who want to improve their French can follow specific courses for that. Courses given in other languages Besides programmes taught entirely in English, UCL offers a certain number of courses in other languages. The courses taught in English are mainly in the following fields: economics, business management, European studies, history, philology, geography, computer science, engineering and statistics. With a few exceptions, only philology is also taught in Spanish, Italian, German and Dutch. Please note that even where a course is taught in French, some teachers offer additional support for non-French-speaking students, such as extra classes in English or the option of sitting the exam in a language other than French. For further information about the language of instruction and the courses available in English, visit the faculty website or see the detailed course descriptions. It is also possible for students to supplement their language training during a mobility programme that may or may not be part of their degree programme.
