Contribution of teaching unit to learning outcomes assigned to programme With regard to the learning outcomes assigned to the Master's programme in Interpreting, this teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following goals: 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 4.4, 5.10, 6.2, 6.5 On completion of this course the student will be able to: · Deploy analytical methods and comprehension techniques to distinguish between essential and non-essential content in a talk; · Develop the ability to find the degree of detachment that makes possible an in-depth analysis of the talk; · Identify and critique existing theoretical models likely to be helpful in the development of his or her interpreting practice; · Be able to offer a critical appreciation of the issues arising from recent research developments in the different domains of interpreting; · Demonstrate critical acumen in assessing sources; · Deploy his or her communication skills before diverse interlocutors; Demonstrate self-mastery and communicate in such a way as to establish an atmosphere of confidence with his or her listeners; |

Professional and scientific background literature on Interpreting and consecutive exercises without notes at first and in a second time note-taking exercises based on short french consecutives
Teaching methods
IWithin this unit, the practical consecutive exercices and theoretical highlights will be shared by 3 lecturers. As to the practical consecutive exercise, the live feedback is given by the students and the interpreter in charge.
Evaluation methods
Oral exam : consecutive french-french for the practical parts of this course and continuous formative assessment of exercises among which preparation of speeches, mindmaps, essays, except for some tasks who will count for some part ot the certifying evaluation .
