Main themes
This seminar deals with questions of Indian philology (mainly Sanskrit but also Dravidian) bearing on palaeography, epigraphy, critical edition, history of texts, the study of peculiar poetical or technical literary genres, or the reading of native commentaries.
Content
This interuniversity FNRS seminar provides a useful complement to the advanced level courses of Sanskrit, by dealing with specific questions related to palaeography, epigraphy, critical edition, history of texts, the study of peculiar poetical or technical literary genres, or the reading of native commentaries. Among the specialised recurrent themes, one can point out the reading of palm-leaf manuscripts in Malayalam script.
Teaching methods
Intensive seminar based on primary material (manuscripts, inscriptions), led by one or more invited experts.

The final mark takes account of:
- an evaluation of the active participation of the student at the seminar;
