Main themes
This seminar will deal with different kinds of methodologies and concepts in Dutch linguistics research. The students should take an active part during the lectures about recent researchs on Dutch linguistics or on the basis of reading of scientific literature.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of the seminar, students should have developed insight into the research methods in different areas of Dutch (applied) linguistics. They should be able to formulate research hypotheses and to develop research methods / strategies to verify these hypotheses.
 
Content
In 2022-2023, the seminar will focus on an empirical study in the framework of the FRS-FNRS project "How do grammar and discourse interact? Evaluation methods
The evaluation will be based on students' active involvement in the seminar (20%, no repass possible for this part). It will also involve a written research report of an empirical study linked to the seminar topic (80%).
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) must be used responsibly and in accordance with the practices of academic and scientific integrity. Scientific integrity requires that sources be cited, and the use of AI must always be reported. The use of artificial intelligence for tasks where it is explicitly forbidden will be considered as cheating.
