Main themes
The course will be dedicated to the appropriation of Digital Humanities as a discipline of critical analysis and appropriation of technologies around digital applied to the humanities and social sciences in the broad sense. It will consist in the practical and comparative study of the different fields of human and social sciences transformed by digital technology, in order to understand the objectives and methods pursued to do so and to appropriate the techniques implemented on a theoretical level. From a methodological and epistemological perspective, the following themes will have to be addressed (without excluding other potential themes): the digitalization of data, their processing, their transformation by digital means, the modalities and techniques for communicating these data to a more or less targeted public, but also the dialogue between digital specialists and non-specialists.

1 | At the end of this course, the student will know the discipline of Digital Humanities, from a theoretical and practical point of view. He/she will be able to show a theoretical knowledge of most of the methods, philosophies and technologies of the digital world and will be able to apply some of them in a practical way. He/she will be able, through appropriate monitoring, to follow the evolution of critical and epistemological thinking and technologies around digital applied to the human and social sciences. He/she will be able to choose the appropriate methods and technologies as well as vocabulary in a dialogue with non-technicians, around any project involving digital technology. |
