Content
The course looks into the main mechanisms related to international trade and foreign direct investment. It looks into the strategies of multinational enterprises and their impact on the global value chain. The course will explain the main tools of trade policies and the main rules of the multilateral trading system. The course will show how the EU trade policy and European firms operate in the global economy. The course will also introduce the global monetary and financial system and its impacts on the EU and on the European firms.

Attending and participating to class is compulsory
Evaluation methods
The classes will consist of seminars. Attendance is compulsory and counts for 20% of the final mark.
The evaluation will consist of TWO oral examinations that will account for 80% of the mark.
Each examination is based on the ex-cathedra course and on specific readings from a list communicated to students during the first lecture of the course. The first examination will take place on the week 09 (mid-November). The second during the January session.
