This course will look into the evolution of economic and social integration within the EU and its immediate prospects. |
Content
In order to comprehend the process of European integration, this course will look into the economic and institutional integration processes at the root of the creation of the Single Market. It will outline the prospects of integration in the different fields of the European economy. In this respect, this course will provide a short introduction to the tools used by the authorities to deepen the integration level in the European Union.
The course will analyze the evolution of social cohesion within the EU and the disparities between the different member countries from the origin of the European integration process to the present times. It will examine the elements and the policies which determine the level of economic and social cohesion within the Union. It will also assess the developments generated by the need to adapt to globalization and by the recent enlargements.
