Basic knowledge of ancient Near Eastern and Mesopotamian societies (course LARKE1553)
Main themes
The course considers in-depth questions and specific problems of interpretation related to the reconstruction of the ways of life and ways of thinking of ancient societies in the Ancient Near East, especially in ancient Iran. More specifically, it will discuss topics such as Median-Achaemenid capitals, Median-Achaemenid cult sites, Elamite archaeology, etc. In addition, the theme of the destruction of cultural heritage in the Near East will also be discussed.

Different themes related to archaeology, art history and cultural heritage management in the Ancient Near East are covered each year.
