Content
By means of case studies, the course offers a chronological and/or thematic overview of the forms and themes of Mediterranean and Western architecture from Antiquity to the Middle Ages through the exploration of major works. The methodology is mainly based on case studies illustrated by images displayed in the lecture room. The works will be arranged in chronological and/or thematic order, with an emphasis on stylistic and iconographic evolution in all the concerned typological fields. The analytic approaches will vary so as to present the diversity and complementarity of the scientific approaches.
