Content
The activities based on authentic documents (reading and listening comprehension) concern political, social topics and help the student to develop the communicative competences which will be needed in later professional life. Basic vocabulary and structures are trained, reinforced and expanded via written and oral exercises (role-plays, interviews, conversations in small groups of 2 or 4)
Teaching methods
Each topic includes receptive and productive activities aimed at consolidating and broadening vocabulary and grammar. Particular emphasis on grammar points, likely to cause difficulties to French-speaking learners.
- Self tuition: vocabulary and grammar exercises
- Groups of 20 students maximum.
- Course hours in class and/or online: 45 hours
- Self-study : 27 hours
Evaluation methods
Several marks come into account for the final assessment : continuous assessment (written and oral tests)
In September: written examen (20%): vocabular and writing ; oral examen (80%): prononciation B1 (15%), podcasts slowgerman (15%), portfolio (30%) et presentation of 20 minutes (20%)
These exam and teaching modalities could be transposed to online teaching and learning according to the evolution of the health situation.
- January mark: 50% test in week 14 (discussion about topics seen in class and the presentations, prononciation B1) and 50% continuous assessment (different tests, details are in syllabus on moodle).
- June mark: 60% test in week 13 (discussion about topics seen in class, podcasts and tandem (if tandem is not organised --) portfolio) and 40% continuous assessment (different tests, presentations, details are in syllabus on moodle).
- in order to botain a mark for the continuous assessment regular classattendance is required.
