At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
At the end of the course, the student will be expected to demonstrate the ability to : Translation : - Translate original pragmatic (non-specialised) texts on social issues into French as language A - Understand the source text by extracting the meaning to be translated, aiming at textual coherence (logic of meaning and sequence of ideas) - Make effective use of the Russian explanatory dictionary tool in order to find the meaning of the text to be translated. - Restore the meaning of the source text in Russian by re-expressing it adequately in the target language [French], ensuring the quality of the writing in the target language (respect and application of discourse rules specific to French, expression of logical connectors required by the context, etc.) - Ensure the formal quality of the target text in terms of spelling, grammar and lexical adequacy (idioms and collocations). - Be aware of the cognitive processes, translation processes and techniques involved in each stage of the translation process. Sight translation: Immediate oral translation of a written text. The formulation must be fluent and at a steady pace. |
