The sessions aim to develop the skills to: a) Perform a relevant bibliographic search of quality and cite its sources; b) Write a scientific text (structure, style and bibliographic references); c) Make pertinent scientific illustrations (selection or realization of figures or graphs and legends); d) Write results/development, discussion and conclusion; e) Summarize and present a dissertation in 5min.
Teaching methods
The seminar consists of five mandatory sessions, during which active participation of students is expected. The seminar is a complementary resource to that provided by the promoter for the writing of the master's thesis. The objectives are to learn how to: a) carry out a bibliographic research, b) write a scientific text, and c) make a good presentation. Specific tasks are requested at each session. In support, tools (Powerpoint, index cards, videos) are available on the Moodle WSBIM2061 page. During the sessions, student's productions are discussed and tips for improvement are exchanged.
Evaluation methods
The evaluation will focus on: a) participation in the sessions (presence, interventions, exchanges); b) the quality of the work provided (respect of instructions, relevance of content, care); c) the quality of the presentation (ppt support, structure of the presentation, answer to questions).
