This course describes the notions of veterinary epidemic (epizootiology)
Purpose of the activity (main topics to be addressed) Epidemiology and risk analysis. The course will start with basic notions in epidemiology (sectors, quantification, reports, indicator, rates). Will follow the detection of infectious animal diseases (true positives), investigations in descriptive epidemiology, epidemics, habitat and transmission of pathogens, methods available to fight against diseases, risk analysis and evaluation of animal health actions. The cost of diseases and their prevention will close this training. These concepts will be illustrated with examples such as the study of some major diseases, from an epidemiological point of view, such as brucellosis, tuberculosis and other zoonotic diseases
