Content
The course will study normal and pathological human walking from a biomechanical perspective. It includes the following chapters:
- THE DIVISION OF THE STEP
- KINEMATICS OF WALKING
- MUSCLE FUNCTION DURING WALKING
- KINETICS OF WALKING
- MUSCULAR WORK DURING WALKING
- ENERGY EXPENDITURE DURING WALKING
- PATHOLOGICAL WALKING OF THE CHILD WITH CEREBRAL PALSY
- PATHOLOGICAL WALKING OF THE ADULTWITH STROKE
- PATHOLOGICAL WALKING OF THE AMPUTEE
Teaching methods
- The course is a lecture in audience.
Evaluation methods
The written exam includes questions that cover the entire course.
The evaluation is done by means of a QCM exam, containing 40 questions. The exam is said to be "homogeneous" (5 answer proposals for each question, 1 correct answer expected per question, identical weighting for all questions). There is no penalty for no answer or incorrect answer.
The minimum mastery threshold (c) of the learning outcomes (corresponding to a mark of 10/20) is set by the following formula : c = ((n+1)/2n) x 100, where n represents the number of propositions per question. In this case, the "minimum pass mark" (c) is set at 60%. In other words, 60% of the questions must be answered correctly to obtain 10/20.
