Content
The course will specifically address one of the missions of the archivist:
- supervision/advice. E.g.: carrying out an audit of a producer service;
- evaluation, acquisition, opening to research. E.g. :, creation of a sorting table, an inventory, etc. ;
- conservation. E.g.: Evaluation and treatment of a vulnerable collection (contamination, unfavorable environment, etc.); restoration process of specific pieces;
- dissemination. E.g.: creation of a (virtual) exhibition highlighting an archival heritage.
Teaching methods
- Theoretical presentations
- Presentation/dialogue with professionals invited to share their practices and experiences
- Partnership with producers or archive services (visit, fieldwork, etc.)
Evaluation methods
Realization of a written work, including a practical component (inventory, report, database, virtual exhibition, etc.) and a reflective dimension.
The student will have to present the progress of his or her project during the preparatory sessions for the final work.
