Main themes
Mastery, at a philological level, of Sanskrit.
Alternating with LGLOR2678, this course deals with the following themes :
  1. Commented reading of Sanskrit texts of advanced difficulty;
  2. Cursory and individual reading of Sanskrit texts.
Content
The course consists in a consolidation of the mastery of Sanskrit philology.
The commented readings deal with poetical (kâvya) or technical (çâstra) texts, possibly unpublished, with special attention given to philological questions of critical edition and apparatus as well as of manuscript deciphering, but also to the interpretation of native glosses and commentaries. The cursory reading deals with classical texts. The individual reading  with written preparation consists of a text suggested to or by the student in continuation of the other  texts studied or in function of his own research interest.

Teaching methods
The course is given for two hours per week. It includes lectures and reading.
A copy of the texts to be read is previously given to the students, who are requested to actively participate in the course on the basis of their preparations.

Evaluation methods
Oral exam on the basis of pre-prepared text.  The final mark takes account on a proportional basis of the texts prepared individually.
Other information
English-friendly course: course taught in French but offering facilities in English.
Online resources
The online working tools related to the course are provided to the students.
The lectured Sanskrit texts are provided to the students in pdf and paper form.
